OVERVIEW
The Syama Gold project is located in the South of Mali (West Africa) approximately 30km from the Côte d’Ivoire border and 300km south east of the Mali capital Bamako.
AEL were commissioned to complete a feasibility study for an oxide circuit to treat 1.5Mtpa in parallel with the existing sulphide ore circuit. The oxide circuit design included primary crushing, two stage milling, gravity gold recovery, classification, CIL circuit, carbon regeneration and associated plant services and infrastructure upgrades.
Subsequent to the study completion AEL were engaged to design several plant modifications and enhancements to improve the existing sulphide plant performance and availability. Webb Construction carried out the site installation for implementation of these works (including fabrication) under AEL management.
